Do african-americans have whiter teeth, or does it just seem that way because of the darker skin?

Honestly, my dentist told me once that African Americans tend to have stronger teeth that are less likely to get cavities and such. I'm guessing this definetly helps on having the teeth be whiter too.

Do african-americans have whiter teeth, or does it just seem that way because of the darker skin?
Are you serious????
Reply:I'm going to say because of their darker skin. One thing that I notice when I'm washing my face (I'm Hispanic so I have a brown tone to my skin) is that my teeth look yellowish because of all the white soap surrounding my mouth. So, if I was to place my teeth on a white card, they would look yellowish because the white contrasts with it. But put the teeth against something like the color of my skin, my teeth look whiter because when we just look at the teeth, we don't have anything true white to compare them to. So in all, having light skin would probably make your teeth seem more yellowish than if you had dark toned skin.

Another thing: I have taken pictures with white people and sometimes their teeth have look more yellowish than mine or they look as white as mine. I went into paint and tried to compare the teeth, my teeth were whiter or just as white. The point is sometimes I guess you can tell when someone's teeth is whiter or the same in pictures no matter the tone of the skin.
Reply:definetely the skin color. I always look like i "bleached" after i am really tan.
