How to have whiter teeth? what are the homemade remedy?

My grandfather (rest his soul) used to brush his teeth with pure baking soda. He had the whitest teeth I've ever seen, even though he smoked cigars. When he passed away at the age of 86, he still had every single original tooth in his mouth. He had great teeth.

people always say to put bicarbonate of soda in your toothpaste or dip a wet toothbrush in it and brush but don't forget to use toothpaste after cos it doesnt clean your teeth. But I find that using whitening strips is so much faster!
Reply:Backing soda is works kinda slowly but it works great and is much less $$ then the strips. Also it DOES clean your teeth.
Reply:A "natural" method is to rinse with hydrogen peroxide. Real whitening treatments use carbamide peroxide.
Reply:IT IS BETTER IF U CONTACT DENTIST,BECAUSE THEY WILL DO IT WITH MORE ADVANCED PROCEDURES .NOW COLGATE PASTE IS HAVING SALT SO U DON'T HAVE TO USE BAKING SODA
Reply:you can use baking soda and/or diluted peroxide. however it takes a long long time to do anything.
