Is it true if you put baking soda on your teeth it makes them whiter?

i basicly have about 10 days to make my teeth whiter and i heared baking soda makes them whiter with out me making them sensative like crest white strips i need to know if it works and how long to keep it on my teeth for and how many times aday ?

YES, THAT'S WHAT I DO AND A LOT OF PEOPLE COMPLIMENT MY SMILE :) BUT IN THE MORNING, I BRUSH WITH A LITTLE BAKING SODA ON MY TOOTHBRUSH, THEN I BRUSH WITH TOOTHPASTE TO GET RID OF THE BAKING SODA TASTE, BECAUSE IT DOESNT TASTE THAT GREAT, BUT YOU'LL GET USED TO IT. THEN I DO THE SAME THING AT NIGHT.
Reply:Yes. Baking soda as a whitener was around YEARS before Crest White Strips. You can brush with it (why do you suppose there is Arm %26amp; Hammer toothpaste?).

Reply:My mom use to make me brush with baking soda YUCK! I haven't used it in years but I would make a paste by wetting my toothbrush dipping it in the baking soda and for an extra kick drizzle a little hydrogen peroxide on for good measure. I don't know how long before they get white but I sure had some white teeth when I lived home....
Reply:what works the best is if you brush them with peroxide then baking soda and another thing baking soda is good for is your hair you wash your hair with it and rinse it out then wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner and it gets all the build up in your hair
