just wondering if baking soda makes your teeth whiter. is it safe for kids? im 13
Does baking soda mixed with water make your teeth whiter?
Baking soda is great for removing ordors and plaque. It's abrasive so you shouldn't use it alot. Once in a while its good, so you can remove alota gunk. But i won't do it more than twice a month, you'll wear down your enamel
Reply:Back in the late 40's and early 50's they used baking sode to brush their teeth because it was believed to help fight against the natural acids in the mouth that promoted tooth decay. Works wonders for me. Tastes like crap though.
Reply:It's good to brush your teeth and clean the plaque off with, but it will not whiten your teeth. Sorry! Regular toothpaste does about the same thing.
(And baking soda does taste nasty).
Reply:Of course it doesn't, you silly. Baking soda just bubbles in your mouth providing to help except for it releases Oxygen. Use salt to make them whiter. It will take like crap first, but it works. Or just go get a bleach tray, and that also works.
