I have nice white teeth but I want them whiter. How can I get them whiter without hurting thiem?

The best way to whiten your teeth without hurting them is to see your dentist. The whitening toothpastes that are on the market are very abrasive to your teeth and could cause damage to the enamel. There are no over-the-counter whitening products such as Crest White Strips that are approved by the ADA (American Dental Association) so I would not recommend using them.

Also, make sure to brush and floss regularly and see your dentist every 6 months for a cleaning and exam. The cleanings performed in a dental office will remove calculus on your teeth that you cannot remove yourself at home.. also, extrinsic stains to the teeth will be removed. Another thing you can do is try to avoid things that cause extrinsic stains as much as possible such as smoking and dark beverages like coffee, tea and colas.

Try http://www.ProWhite-Teeth.com my wife and I have had great results with this product. Report It

Reply:i use what looks like a white out bottle, from Crest You put it on overnight. I think its basically a bleach. I have been using it for years, very mild and I go to the dentist every 6 months, she has never said anything negative.

The strips are great too.

You can of course pay the big money and do it professionally. But then you glow in the dark
Reply:I have seen an advertisement on pay tv for a teeth whitener and it is called (I think) "Whitening Light". It is a hand held instrument in the shape of a "T" and you hold it to your teeth for a certain amount of time. Good luck.
Reply:The best advice I can give is to ask your dentist because all of those products on the shelves are actually eating away your enamel on your teeth until one day your left with brittle teeth. After smoking, drinking coffee, or eating chocalate go and brush your teeth because these dirty little critters actually will stain your teeth.
Reply:You should see your dentist prior to whitening your teeth for several reasons:

1) The teeth to be safely bleached if it has no cavity on it.

2) There are two type of stains on the teeth: extrinsic and intrinsic. Extrinsic staining is the stain on the teeth that comes from ther outside such as tea, coffee, and smoking. Intrisinc staining originates from the inside of your own body such as tetracycline and blood. The method and the recommendation to whiten your teeth differ for each situation.

3) You will need someone to monitor your progress. Yes, there is such thing as OVER WHITENING!

4) Most of the over-the-counter product will lighten your teeth a little at a higher risk of swallowing a lot of the bleaching chemical.

5) To inrease the shelf-life, most of the over-the-counter whitening products are added with an acidic preservatives. The acid dissolves the precious enamel of the tooth and causes extreme tooth sensitivity. Professional products have no preservable; the only way to prolong the shelf life for the professional products is to refrigerate them.
Reply:Not every can achieve "movie star" white teeth. You need to have realistic expectations as to how white your teeth can potentially be.
