Why do apples make our teeth whiter?

i just ate an apple and even though my teeth were already clean omg they look so much whiter!

and its a proven fact that they do.

why though?

Why do apples make our teeth whiter?
probably b/c when you bite into an apple, it takes the plaque, bacteria, and stains away, i'm assuming, from the pressure...or maybe it's the acid that's in the juice, or something like that? i like eating apples, not only b/c they taste good, but my teeth squeak when i run my tongue across them after biting into one :) squeeeeeeaky clean!
Reply:because its an apple
Reply:No, but they will remove the bit of parsley you have got stuck there!
Reply:they do? i didn't know that!
Reply:i saw this add and it said something about the acid in the apple that makes your teeth whiter.
Reply:I am a carnivore. If you're offering some grass, I might go for that. Try a bleaching kit and brushing with a harder tooth brush. Also better flossing.
Reply:The natural chemicals found in apples are some of the same chemicals used in whitening dental products. :)
Reply:cause a apple a day keeps the doctor away
Reply:The acids in the apple break down bacteria on our teeth. Therefore making them whiter.
Reply:uh.....cause they're a fruit and fruits makes your hair grow, and your body????
Reply:I didn't know that?!
Reply:do they cause if so bring on the apples!!!!!!!! ;)
Reply:well, if you do know that its a fact then you must probably know the answer right?
Reply:proven fact by who???
Reply:I'm not really sure why they make ur teeth whiter, but I know its a proven medical fact that eating an apple cleans ur teeth better than brushing ur teeth. Isn't that just crazy?
Reply:It's the carbonic acid in it that combines with tetrafluorides when exposed to free oxygen. This creates an effect not dissimilar to teeth whiteners found in various other products such as toothpaste and certain gums.

lmao, i have no idea wtf that means

idk, because they're apples! i luv them! :)
Reply:Not sure. Maybe they have chemicals in them that clean your teeth, or maybe the fiber or whatever in the scrubs your teeth.
Reply:I'm pretty sure they clean off all of the plaque off you teeth

its soaks up all the plaque and absorbs it in the apple. it's like a weak mouthwash =]
Reply:It has antioxidants and Vitamin C, reducing DNA damage... including the DNA damage in the teeth, hence teeth will stay white!
Reply:Apples massage your gums, which just generally makes your teeth look and feel better. Any fruit like an apple massages your gums, veggies do the same. Also, the skin of the apple helps clean in-between your teeth.
Reply:Apple eating purifies the blood and the pure blood floats through veins purifies every part of the body and in one way the natural whiteness illumines and positive result in eating apples
Reply:I've been eating the wrong apples then..
Reply:OMG OMG OMG! I didn't know!

Thank you!
