Like where can you get bleaching products etc to actually bleach or make your teeth whiter? Does anyone know anything?

They don't work. They wear the enamel off your teeth. then you have dental problems and buy more of their products.
If you have some really important event coming up, try brushing your teeth with baking soda. It tastes gross, but it will whiten them a little.
Brushing/gargling with hydrogen peroxide works too, but it will kill all bacteria, good and bad, in your mouth. You shouldn't use this for more than ten days because after ten days you run the risk of getting a black hairy toungue. Also, make sure if you do this, to do it before bed and not in the morning before work because it will temporarily turn your gums white too (from tiny cuts).

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make my teeth whiter using something i can find in the house...Yes i brush everyday and ive tried putting a little peroxide on my toothbrush but it still doesnt get it as white as I want them...Please give me any suggestions you may have that will hold me over until my next dentist appointment.

You can try Crest Whitestrips. I tried them at my dentist's recommendation. They worked great, but I was in total agony. My teeth are fairly sensitive to start with and I went ahead and used them and my teeth were so sore for weeks afterward. Again, they did work though. After I explained this to my dentist he said that I could have stretched out the treatment by just doing it once daily or something like that and it wouldn't have been so painful at a lower use. Lately though, I've been use Listerine Whitening Pre-Brush Rinse. I like it a lot better. It uses peroxide just like the Crest Whitestrips, but it's a lower dose and all you do is rinse your teeth with it for one minute before you brush them. I think it works great and I haven't had any negative side effects. I've been using it for about a year. Good luck!! :)

I wouldn't recommend whitening your teeth with your braces on at all, because whitening products only whiten the area that they touch!
This means, when your braces are removed, the area under the bracket / cement will be a different colour to the whitened area and it's very difficult to correct this, if not impossible, without expensive cosmetic treatments (veneers etc).
In other words, you'll end up with yellow patches right in the middle of your teeth which will stand out and make your teeth look worse than they are.

I heard that you can use baking soda to whiten your teeth but i tried it and it didnt work. I would do it 3 times a week for 1 month but it just got a little bit whiter. (dont do this after you have brushed your teeth and dont brush them afterwarts, do it in between brushings)

How can I make my teeth whiter?
I am only 13 and I really want to make my teeth whiter before Thanksgiving. (I am getting together with my ENTIRE family and my teethe arent the whitest) So can someone tell me what to do to make my teeth whiter and/or what a good toothpaste? PLEASE HELP! Thanks

I'd suggest the Crest Whitening Mouthwash. I use it and it seems to work. You won't notice any drastic changes by Thanksgiving though, sorry. It'll take a few weeks to a month, but it really does work.
It seems to make my gums sore, though, so I use it for a month, then switch to a regular mouthwash for a month, and then go back to the whitening kind...

What's the best way to get my teeth whiter? ...white spots!?...?
I had braces when I was younger. I now have "calcium deposits" on my teeth from them... which are just little spots that are whiter than the rest of my teeth. Whenever I try those over-the-counter whitening strips, the white spots on my teeth get SUPER white right away, but I don't see much change in the rest of my teeth. I've never followed through with any of these products because I'm afraid of having "spotted" teeth. I don't have a huge amount of money, so professional whitening would be my LAST resort and I'd have to save for months and months to be able to afford it. Any good success stories with anything other than professional whitening?

I also used to wear braces and heard that teeth should be whitened after they are taken off(well i didn't do that)...yet i have also heard that the whitening chemicals aren't all that safe because for example they cause tooth decay( i don't know this for a fact).Basically if possible I would like to receive a good(maybe even professional)advice on professionally whitening teeth does it have any side affects?(yes i went to a dentist and asked and was told that the procedure is all safe etc)but am still not all that convinced on the whole issue.

If you're teeth are white don't worry about it. Just go to your dentist twice a year. Look at some celebrities, their teeth are so white it is too much and looks really bad.

Guys, im 14 and im on phenoxymethylpenicilin anti-biotics and ive been on it since may 2007 because i rupturfed my spleen and had it removed, im going to be on the anti biotics till november 2008. 18 months basically. my teeth are a bit yellow though. i dont drink coffee or smoke, i dont brush my teeth, but if it would make my teeth whiter, then i would brush, but its not. i only brush in the morning when i have school, to freshen my breath, because it stinks in the morning . is there anyway i can make my teeth shine white and my breath so smell as fresh as strawberries?? any quick formula or mybe how much is teeth whitening?

I have seen people say that dentist's try to match the color of your crowns to your other teeth and since I can only afford to get the top 4 crowned, they would be matching them to my "eye" teeth. The thing is that I want BRIGHT WHITE teeth, because I have had discolored teeth since I was young. I had caps put on in high school, but they matched them to that current color and I was not happy having newly covered teeth in a bad color. I am wondering if I should use that over the counter 2 week bleaching system to get my teeth as white as possible so that when they match the colors, they are significantly brighter to match up with. If there are any dental assistants or dentists out there I could really use any advice. My dentist is a friend of my mom, so she is giving me a good deal, but I just want to have a smile that I can be proud about. Another thing...should I think about veneering the next 2 top teeth on either side until I can afford to have them crowned? P.S. I have an overbite.

Actually, until recently Asians didn't see brushing their teeth as a good thing. Now if you goto Asia, especially China, there are free tooth brushes and tooth paste everywhere! I don't know why African Americas have such white teeth, I have actually seen many around where I live with some really bad ones.

Reply:Use some baking soda! Put it on a wet toothbrush and brush your teeth! It will remove superficial stains such as from tea, coffee, cola etc. Really works. Also rubbing a strawberry that has been cut in half on your teeth is supposed to work, although never tried it myself!

Are teeth supposed to go slightly yellow at the age of 13 but then get whiter?
Because my mum said that she knows of other 13 year olds whose teeth went slightly yellow but the kids in my class all have pearly white teeth. i brush for 4 min every morning and night but they are slightly yellow. What can i do to make them white? Please help!!!!!!!!!!

I saw the rest of the answers and i am in dental assisting school. you should not use whitening toothpaste or mouthwash it is very harsh on your teeth and can cause damage. the only whitening i recommend is crest white strips they are the only ADA approved ones.

What is the best way to get whiter teeth without going to the dentist, that actually works for you?
I am not insured, and I know that it will cost too much to get my teeth white at a local dentist. Have anyone here tried something that makes their teeth white at a cheap price(less than $50)-thanks

they say to only put them on for 30mins at a time...but i actually SLEEP with them on LOL! doesn't hurt me at all! works even faster! my dentist said that there's nothing wrong with it...as long as my teeth sensitivity can handle it

Reply:baking soda works, it's an old fashioned remedy but it won't erode your teeth like whiteners do. I drink a lot of tea and it makes my teeth dingy. satisfied so far but I need to go to the dentist for pro help. It's not that expensive to get your teeth cleaned at the dentist.call them

Reply:Crest makes very good products. THere are different kinds of crest whitestrips, that work different time frames. they also have a night gel thing.
Plus they are inexpensive at the drugstores.

You can rinse your mouth with peroxide (don't swallow) but it tastes awful. Same with baking soda, brush with it and rinse well. It also tastes pretty bad.
Listerine now has a pre brushing rinse that has peroxide in it you can use and I think it makes the teeth a little whiter and brighter (sorry, looked at my bottle -- I initially gave credit to Crest but it is Listerine). It doesn't taste wonderful but it is easier to tolerate than straight peroxide and baking soda. I've been using it a couple of weeks and think it is effective for the couple of dollars it cost, well worth it.
If you have extreme tooth stains like coffee, tea and nicotine you will probably need a good scaling from your dentist in addition to the above methods. You can buy a scaler at your local drugstore to scrape those stains on the front of your teeth yourself but be careful! They aren't as nice as the instruments your dentist uses.
Pain? naw but you might feel some tingling. Don't use a hard toothbrush trying to get them cleaner/whiter. Use a soft brush because you don't want to damage your gums and cause sensitivity or gum disease. Best of luck.

Reply:You may think I am nuts but I am a coffe drinker and a smoker......I tried everything due to the unability to pay dental fees and used every toothpaste on the market.
I come to find out that at Wal Mart they sold a whitening gel and mouth rinse combination that comes with the the mouthpiece for around $6.00 It is a cheap brand called Plus White I used this twice a day and Colgate Rejuvinating effects Vanilla and mint toothpaste 3x a day
and began noticing the whiter smile the first day.I continue the use and it is really made a big differrence.It is as if I had them pro cleaned and whitened.
