I had braces when I was younger. I now have "calcium deposits" on my teeth from them... which are just little spots that are whiter than the rest of my teeth. Whenever I try those over-the-counter whitening strips, the white spots on my teeth get SUPER white right away, but I don't see much change in the rest of my teeth. I've never followed through with any of these products because I'm afraid of having "spotted" teeth. I don't have a huge amount of money, so professional whitening would be my LAST resort and I'd have to save for months and months to be able to afford it. Any good success stories with anything other than professional whitening?
What's the best way to get my teeth whiter? ...white spots!?...?
You should continue using the whitening strips. The white spots may be more prominent initially, but the over all tooth color will brighten with use, making the spots appear less noticeable with continued use. Finish using the strips before you turn to your dentist for bleaching trays and solutions.
The "bleaching tray system" will be slightly more expensive initially "BUT", the tray system will offer "great results" over "many years of use," with the only "added expense" being the "purchasing of residual bleaching solution" for touch-ups. Depending on what your dentist charges for the trays, you could end up actually saving money over a years time of buying the strips. Do the math and see where you will save, but do look into the bleaching tray system. It is the best system available that will get your teeth their whitest and brightest, and keep them that way. I prefer the tray method over all the other "in office" bleaching systems that take an hour and are high priced. You should see the results you want with the strips if you continue with them, the white will eventually blend. I hope I've been of some help and good luck with your dental bleaching!
