i want to make my teeth whiter and i brush my teeth twice a day and swish with citrus listerine, but i would like whiter teeth and i want something with no bleach, or anything that would hurt my teeth or make them sensitive...are there any non-damaging strips or anything? any recommended toothpaste? (i use Aim bit hbaking soda...)
How to get whiter teeth without...?
Less-than-white teeth
Combine 1/2 teaspoon baking soda with 1 or 2 drops of peroxide. Brush on, let sit for a few minutes, then rinse (don’t swallow) and ta-da! — enjoy your once-again pearly whites.
Baking soda serves as a safe, light bleach. A baking soda-and-salt mixture can also restore the shine of dingy teeth (dip a wet toothbrush into 1/4 teaspoon soda and sprinkle with up to 1/8 teaspoon salt) as effectively as it polishes your pots and pans. However, the peroxide recipe is safer for people on no-salt diets.

Reply:If you add a little peroxide to the baking soda that should work. But I don't know if it will make your teeth sensitive.
Reply:1 part table salt, 2 parts baking soda mixed together...your teeth will feel and look great.

Reply:What you need to understand is that the color of your teeth is not just surface colorization and thus means that basic whitening can only be achieved on two levels....First the whitening can only be accomplished on the outer layer and that needs to be a color problem that is only in the outer layer. Second, whitening with strips or bleaches are not going to achieve a great deal if the color of your teeth is due to deep layer enhancement. Your teeth's overall color is created from the the three basic layers your teeth are created from and depending on the strength of the layers color as the outside light blends them, you get your tooth color. The inner most layer is the Pulp Chamber and it tends to be pink. The middle layer is the Dentin and it runs from tan, to brown to yellow. The outer layer , the Enamel runs from totally Clear to gray to bluish...As the light from the sun or what ever source penetrates those layers, it's reflected back and as it reflects it blends the layers colors together and the end result is your tooth's; color/ Deep seated colors can however be altered by a dental laser and that may be what you will need to achieve your goal. If not, you may need Porcelain Veneers placed over your teeth....See your dental professional for a positive diagnosis.
